Personal Podcasts Preferences

I (surprisingly) have been fairly busy these past few days to prepare for our Thanksgiving travels.  Bright and early tomorrow morning we are headed to Monroe, North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with Aaron’s family.  We got the oil changed, washed the car, cleaned the car (I’m messy), filled up with gas, baked some pumpkin bread, did the laundry, and packed!   Monroe is a few minutes away from Wingate, where we went to school, and about 30 minutes from Charlotte so I love any opportunity to go back, it feels like a mini homecoming!  Before we got married I spent almost two years living in Charlotte and I loved every bit of it (except being long distance from Aaron)  It is part of our not-so-distant future plan to move back there even though I will always be a West Virginia girl at heart!
I do not know about you but I love road trips, especially if someone else is driving because that means I have some company and I get to nap (yes I am THAT passenger)!  One of my biggest annoyances is when the radio stations lose signal and you hear the white noise during a song you love, so am trying to plan ahead and have some podcasts downloaded and maybe make a playlist to make the time go by faster.  Currently, one my favorite podcasts is NPR’s game show “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!”  I love puns and the jokes they make and I laugh the whole time, plus one episode is close to an hour so it is great for road trips.  Aaron likes it too but he can only take about one to two episodes at a time.  Another one I love is “Criminal.”  Each episode tells a story about something related to an illegal act.  It could be about the person who committed a crime, or it could be about something that is illegal that you may not know about, or it could be about people investigating illegal things.  I learn something new every time I listen to it.  Of course there is also the “Serial” podcast if anyone hasn’t heard of it by now.  Both seasons are awesome and would definitely pass the time.  If anyone has any podcasts they love I would love to hear your suggestions.  We love to laugh and I am a lover of fun facts so I’d love to find a good funny, (kind of) educational podcast.

So you got a long roadtrip planned for the holidays and need something to pass the time? “It’s Fine!” There is a whole world of podcasts out there and eventually you’ll get to your destination and be with your family. Until next time…
