Holidays With the Honeycutts: Decorating a 600sqft Apartment

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….I know I already said I had started decorating for Christmas, but it took me a little while to get it the way I wanted! I I said I would post pictures once it was done so here they are! Let me tell you, decorating a 600 sq ft apartment is not necessarily an easy task.  We barely have room for our stuff as is and throw in some decorations and the song should say “We are beginning to get a little claustrophobic…”  Not really I am being slightly dramatic (I have a tendency to do that)  One of the positive sides to living in a small place is that it does not take a lot of decorations to make your apartment look festive! One day I hope to have a few more decorations collected and a bigger space to decorate, but I have grown to love our tiny first place together so I made the most of what I have!

This little guy is my new favorite ornament.  Aaron and I went to Key West on our honeymoon, and I had never kayaked before but I wanted to give it a try!  The tour company told us the tandem kayak was the honeymooners challenge and we passed with flying colors so I guess that is a good sign! Santa is already a pro and apparently this is how he delivers gifts to the Keys!

This bar has become my make-shift mantle.  One of my friends made it for us a wedding gift and she did an awesome job and she is just a beginner at woodwork! I love it!  AND these awesome Pottery Barn stockings were a wedding presents from good family friends and they have been using the same stocking they received as a wedding presents for 25 years so I hope they bring us the same luck!

The picture does not do this lantern justice! There was no shortage of lanterns at the wedding so there were plenty left over and my aunt turned them into Christmas decorations and gave them to the women in my family! Isn't it cute!

Have you decorated for Christmas yet?  It is always a busy time of the year, but there is still plenty of time because it is not even December yet!  So you have a small space to decorate for Christmas this year? "It's Fine!"  It doesn't take a whole lot of decorations to do it as long as you get a little creative! Until next time...
